yesterday's mass was really good. the priest who did the (sorry i don't know what's the name of it.. liturgy or what?) in-between-the-Gospel-and-the-Creed-thing was REALLY GOOD! he was talking about motherhood. just to share some quotes:
"the man searches for his lost rib. [because eve was created from adam's rib] and one day, he sees a woman somewhere, on the streets at the mall or something, and he says 'i think you are my lost rib.' and the woman will say 'i think i belong to you'. but remember, one man only has ONE lost rib. we call the other women the SPARERIBS."
"five years and below, they are called children.
five years to twelve years, they are called little girls. not allowed to have boyfriends!
twelve to eighteen, they are called BIG girls. STILL not allowed to have boyfriends, 'cos they're still girls.
eighteen to twentyfour. they are called ladies. this is when they are at their most beautiful. no need for makeup!
twentyfive to thirty. they are called wives. they get ready to be married.
one year after they marry, they're called mothers.
and next, they're called [someone in the audience yells out grandmother] nonono. not grandmothers! they're MOTHERS IN LAW!
after that, THEN they're called grandmothers.
so you see, motherhood is a very step-by-step thing."
yep. hope you enjoy.
